Staggering! ... well thought through ... in a league of its own! ... research is very thorough, the write up clear, easy to read, and the format addressing a complex subject simple and easy to follow.  I love the hypothesis, the data and discussion to support it, with the detail, such as comparing the Ten Commandments with the Egyptian Book of the Dead, proposing who Moses was and his probable background, the origin of names like Aaron and Miriam.  The timelines correlating the stories and events, with when the bible first came into being, very clear.

It is interesting and exciting. I love the graphs and graphic tables.  It is an impressive body of work - the thesis is frighteningly bold. I think it is fascinating. Individual sections are useful and informative as standalone readings, separate from the thesis as a whole, e.g. Akhenaten and the advent of monotheism.

I am enjoying the book immensely.  I intend to purchase a few copies for family and friends.

A really great book! The subject matter is something I am very interested in and to have all this research available in one place is amazing. Apart from the fascinating comparison of historical fact and biblical mythology, the detailed research on it's own provides a comprehensive review of the history of the Levant and it's surrounds that I am sure I will return to time and time again.

What really sets this book apart is its novel and ingenious approach.  The organization, the thoroughness, the clarity, and the scope of the subject are remarkable.  The analysis is original and insightful.  All in all, a magnificent book.
